Choreography for Skaters: Classical Ballet (Online)

Ballet Foundation for Program Components (PCS):

Join our online classical choreography classes, specifically adapted for figure skaters. We have designed a methodology that delivers a full-scale professional workout right at home. You will cover the entire training spectrum: building correct posture and extended body lines, strength exercises at the barre, developing Turnout, and expressive arm movements (Port de bras). This builds a solid foundation for all three ISU Program Components: Skating Skills, Presentation, and Composition.

Curriculum: From Plie to Presentation

Barre Work: Plie, Tendu, Jeté, Rond de jambe — for foot strength and muscle elasticity.

Center Work: Adagio for balance and Allegro for sharpness and jump power.

Port de bras: Developing expressive arms and upper body plasticity.

Stretching: Improving ballet extension and back flexibility for spirals and Biellmann spins.

Component Score & Skating Aesthetics:

Figure skating is an aesthetic sport. Judges strictly evaluate extended knees, pointed toes, and body posture. Our methodology helps transfer ballet carriage to the ice, improving your Component Score (PCS) and making your skating broader, more ample, and more conscious.

Training Format:

Classes are held via Zoom under the guidance of an experienced teacher. The instructor corrects hip, back, and arm positions in real time, ensuring academic precision in every movement.

Methodology & Results:

Foundation for Jumps (TES):

Explosive Take-off: Choreography (Relevé) conditions the ankle, essential for jump height.

Rotational Speed: We teach you to extend your body like a "taut string." This is crucial in the air: an extended body with a tight air position rotates significantly faster. This ballet habit allows you to complete more revolutions within the same flight time.

Coordination: Combining footwork with arm movements teaches the body to move harmoniously, improving Skating Skills.

For All Levels: We provide a strong foundation for beginners, while helping experienced athletes refine their artistry, musicality, and performance depth (Presentation).

Required Equipment & Attire

Barre: Any stable chair, table, or windowsill (waist height) will work.

Attire: Tight-fitting clothes (leggings, leotard/tank top) so the instructor can see muscle and knee work.

Footwear: Ballet slippers or thick socks.

Yoga Mat: For floor gymnastics and stretching.

Distance lessons are the ideal way to maintain and improve the skills gained at our ice camps until your next trip to us. Conversely, regular home workouts (general physical training, special physical training, jump technique) allow you to perfectly prepare for our upcoming intensives in Europe (Czech Republic, Latvia, Austria, Germany) and Dubai. It is cheaper, more convenient, and helps you stay in shape all year round!
Yes! We offer an individual approach for skaters of absolutely any age and skill level. Our coaching staff works remotely with toddlers taking their first steps in sports, as well as adult figure skating fans. You can learn basic elements from scratch or perfect complex jumps in the comfort of your home, without wasting time on commuting.
Classes are held all year round (the time in the schedule is based on the Riga, Latvia time zone — GMT+3). To achieve optimal results, we recommend training 4–5 times a week, but the frequency depends on your goals. Both group online lessons and individual classes are available, and we will create a convenient schedule specifically for you.
The process is very simple: Step 1: Complete a free registration (icon in the upper right corner of the website).
