Static & Balance: Stability (Online)

Why Do Legs Shake and Points Drop?

You can rotate a Quad jump, but if you don't stick the landing, your score gets destroyed. A fall or a touch-down results in massive penalties (GOE -5) and deductions. As a result, the hardest element scores less than a simple triple. Balance is the foundation. In this course, we train deep stabilizer muscles so you can stand firm on the ice and save even the roughest landings.

Curriculum: From Spirals to the "Dead" Landing

Perfect Landing Position: Static practice of the landing pose. We teach you to hold the exit "check" dead still, even if the jump axis was tilted.

Complex Positions: Working on holding Biellmann, Y-Scale, and Arabesque positions without trembling in the supporting knee.

Vestibular Balance: Exercises with eyes closed, and sharp head turns. We teach the brain to instantly find the horizon after spins.

Micro-Muscles: Strengthening the foot and ankle. A strong foot saves you from edge errors and falls.

How Statics Affect the Protocol?

Jump GOE: Judges reward a long, flowing exit (Good flow out). Statics allow you to demonstrate control and confidence, boosting your GOE.

Spin Centering: If the core and back hold static tension, the spin stays centered and doesn't travel, which is critical for achieving high Levels.

Skating Skills: One-foot gliding skills and edge depth directly depend on your ability to maintain equilibrium.

Training Format

This is "quiet" but exhausting work. We don't jump; we freeze in difficult poses. You will feel stabilizer muscles you didn't even know existed. Classes are held on a mat.

Methodology

Neuromuscular Connection: We eliminate tremors. Shaking legs signals a loss of brain control. We teach the nervous system to keep the muscle toned without glitching.

Fatigue Effect: We practice statics under fatigue, simulating the second half of a Free Skate when energy is low and you must rely on pure willpower.

Proprioception: Teaching to feel body position in space without mirrors.

Required Equipment & Attire

Mat: Mandatory.

Balance Cushion/Disc (Optional): To increase difficulty. If unavailable, a folded towel works.

Sneakers: Mandatory (for ankle support).

Weights (Optional): For pros.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the main benefits of online training, and how does it connect with Ryabinin Camps?

Distance lessons are the ideal way to maintain and improve the skills gained at our ice camps until your next trip to us. Conversely, regular home workouts (general physical training, special physical training, jump technique) allow you to perfectly prepare for our upcoming intensives in Europe (Czech Republic, Latvia, Austria, Germany) and Dubai. It is cheaper, more convenient, and helps you stay in shape all year round!
Yes! We offer an individual approach for skaters of absolutely any age and skill level. Our coaching staff works remotely with toddlers taking their first steps in sports, as well as adult figure skating fans. You can learn basic elements from scratch or perfect complex jumps in the comfort of your home, without wasting time on commuting.
Classes are held all year round (the time in the schedule is based on the Riga, Latvia time zone — GMT+3). To achieve optimal results, we recommend training 4–5 times a week, but the frequency depends on your goals. Both group online lessons and individual classes are available, and we will create a convenient schedule specifically for you.
The process is very simple: Step 1: Complete a free registration (icon in the upper right corner of the website).
